Dr. Christopher Elia is a dual - fellowship trained neurosurgeon specializing in complex & minimally invasive spine surgery, renowned for his expertise in the comprehensive management of spinal disorders. Dr Elia also emphasizes the importance of customizing a treatment plan based upon each patient’s specific needs and goal of surgery.

Education and Training:

After completing his neurosurgery residency at Riverside University Health System, Dr. Elia pursued advanced training through a spine fellowship at Swedish Neuroscience Institute (SNI) in Seattle, WA. At SNI, Dr Elia gained specialized training in complex spinal deformity surgery, minimally invasive spine surgery and endoscopic spine surger/y. Dr Elia furthered his academic maturity by completing another spine fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. During these fellowships, he had the privilege of learning from and working alongside world-renowned experts in both neurosurgery and orthopedic spine surgery. This dual exposure has uniquely positioned Dr. Elia at the forefront of spine surgery, equipping him with a diverse skill set and a profound understanding of the intricacies involved in treating complex spinal conditions.

Dr. Elia's training with leading figures in both neurosurgery and orthopedic spine surgery has instilled in him a deep appreciation for the collaborative nature of spine care. Recognizing that spinal disorders often require a multidisciplinary approach, he is well-versed in the importance of seamlessly integrating neurosurgical and orthopedic principles.
